Epicurean World Master Chef Society
September 14, 2007- Team USA wins first place overall and wins two silver medals in Bangkok, Thailand!
The Epicurean World Master Chef Society Team USA, recently competed in the Annual Culinary Gathering of Cooks and Chefs in conjunction with the International Food and Hospitality Show at Royal Paragon Siam Hall in Bangkok, Thailand.
Competing in the Western Type Team Cooking Contest, a three-person team achieved the top score in this category along with a cash prize and Silver Medal. The team consisted of Salvatore Gisellu of Daddy Jack’s Wood Grill in Dallas, Texas; Patrick Mitchell of Great Wolf Lodge in Grapevine, Texas; and Michael Scott of Northwood Golf Club in Dallas, Texas, A second Epicurean World Master Chef Society Team USA competed and was recognized for the fine effort with a diploma. This three-person team included Morris Salerno of The Grotto in Highland Village, Texas; Tom Welther of Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas and Shari Carlson of Dessert Dreams in Dallas, Texas, Both teams were managed by Mario Reyes of Nestle North America, based in Addison, Texas.
The Western Type Team Cooking Contest consisted entirely of three person teams competing in a three hour slot, preparing a five course menu that consisted of a cold appetizer, soup, hot appetizer, main course and dessert. 18 teams competed from 13 countries.
The individual Turkey Cooking Competition, sponsored by the USA Poultry & Egg Export Council, awarded Sean Daniels of Wichita Falls Country Club in Wichita Falls, Texas, a silver medal for his creative use of turkey products. Epicurean World Master Chef Society Team USA represented the United States in Bangkok, Thailand from September 5-8, 2007.
